I grew up in North Dakota in the middle of the state, spent most of my childhood on the prarie herding cows. Learned to tell time by looking at my shadow in the sun! Learned to sail and ultimately bought my own boat, "Abundance." Built for the North Sea. Learned to navigate, did all the chart work and celestial navigation.
